From another Russian poi_and_everything_else-spinner

Here in Russia we have a large livejournal community ru_poi which has several branches related to certain cities. The Moscow's one is pokruton_msk - it has more than 800 members. But nobody knows how many members are real firespinners and how many firespinners are members. So we can only guess.

Usually in these cities there are well-known places where fire (or not-fire) spinners use to meet together, spin and juggle all these things, learn new moves and of course communicate and make friends.
In Moscow such place is Bolotnaya square. In summer you could see here from 20 till 50-70 spinners every day. Now the weather becomes cold and rainy so the number of people is less. But even in winter when it is cold you can sometimes meet firespinners there.

If to speak about the celebration of the birthday I think there were several hundred people. Some of them spun fire or glow-stuff or pyrotechnics, some - firebreathed (on the photo above you can see the mass firebreathing act where about 20 fireworkers breathed fireballs at the same time), some just watched and some - took photos. There were also many drummers who always like to visit our sessions and play different percussion instruments. You could even see one strange guy who did nothing except riding madly to and fro on a unicycle and producing strange souns exactly similar to the sound of bike horn... It was me, actually.

We planned to invite some fire performances but, unfortunately, we didn't. But nevertheless we have had a great celebration with a lot of fun, pleasure, drums anf of course, a lot of fire : )

Well. If somebody of you is going to Russia or someone of us is going to France... we know how to contct each other : )
